Doctor’s Profile

Dr Lim Kim Show graduated from the acclaimed National University of Singapore in the year 1995. He was conferred his MBBS and since then, he have been relentless pursuing his studies in many areas to further enhance his skills and commitment to patient’s care. He subsequently obtained his graduate diploma in family physician (United Kingdom). He is a certified laser physician in the year 2000 and is one of the pioneers in harnessing the use of laser technology. He has successfully treat various skin conditions and had use Botox and other injectable for the treatment of his patients.

Dr. Lim was trained in numerous departments but mainly in Orthopedic of National University Hospital, Tan Tock Seng and Singapore General Hospital. In addition to these, he received training in Kandang Kerbau Hospitals (KKH) where he was tasked with the management of pediatric and infant care.

During these stints, he developed subspecialty clinical interests such as disorders of the shoulder and knee pain, knee ligament injuries, back and neck pain and general sporting injuries to the hip, elbow and ankle joints. In year 2008, Dr. Lim received his Diploma in Acupuncture. He integrated the use of acupuncture into his practice to help better managed his patient. He believes acupuncture is a good adjunct treatment to enable better care for joint problems and arthritis, chronic diseases, weight problems, sprains and sports injury.

He centers his care to the elderly community too. He is a firm believer that our growing and aging health population needs to be address well. Currently Dr. Lim is actively advocating the public in preventive care and creating awareness towards a better management of their chronic disease management. He promotes health talks and screening campaigns on chronic disease management in various community centers and public libraries.

In year 2013, Dr. Lim was appointed by Ministry of Health and worked with Eastern Health Alliance to model an efficient and effective primary health care model. Dr. Lim was instrumental in the setting up of the first few Family Medicine Centers ( Bedok FMC) which integrated cost, access and quality of healthcare effectively.

He is a member of the Primary Healthcare Division under the purview of Ministry of Health. He provides constructive feedback and set direction in the planning of primary healthcare in Singapore for the next decade.

Apart from his work commitment as a physician, Dr. Lim is an avid dancer and he practiced ballroom dancing twice a week.
